Composition

From as far back as I can remember I've always had musical motifs, melodies and lyrical ideas bouncing around in my head. As a kid I would make up songs and sing them into my cassette recorder. Later when I started playing drums, part of my drum practice would be to jam along to this stream of consciousness of ideas that inspired me. I still use this practice today with the result usually leading to the development of songs that I later flesh out and record.

Piano

I recall in my early years as a drummer an intense need to translate ideas I had into a more concrete musical form. I have always been drawn to the piano and synthesizers, and I found in them a way to get these ideas composed as songs and or instrumentals. My style of writing has developed over time. From pastoral ambient grooves, classical pieces, to fully structured pop ballads, I don't limit myself by genre. I use the piano or synth as my principal writing tool, which I always find inspiring.

Writing music is one my greatest joys in life. I always hope others enjoy it and want to hear more, which then, makes the writing process even sweeter! I am currently working on my debut album.
